Maui 2019

     My boyfriend and I traveled to Hawaii for our three year anniversary. We visited to two islands on this trip, Maui and Oahu. This was my first time ever in Hawaii, and I am in love.

Our first island was Maui, the "romantic" island. We stayed in Kaanapali, and I enjoyed the beaches there. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We would walk down the shore morning before our day, and night time after our dinner. We rented a Jeep, so we were able to further explore other places like Lahaina.

The first meal we had was at Hula Grill. We sat at the barefoot bar, which had live music, with the musician playing the ukulele. The food was amazing too! We shared the Tandoori Roasted Shrimp (cucumber Rita, opal basil gastrique, house sriracha), Kalbi Short Rib Tacos (soy tamarind braised, watercress, jicama, pickled maui onion, yuzu mint vinaigrette), and the Firecracker Fish (spicy firecracker aioli, black bean avocado salsa). We added their house citrus sauce, which tasted like plum sauce with chili and ginger to me. It was SO DELICIOUS. I may have drenched my rice with it.  To top off the meal, we had a few Lava Flows and Lilikoi Mojitos.

The remaining of the day and last day (after Road to Hana), we sat out on the beach most of the time and just relaxed. On the last day, we stopped by Lahaina to explore the shops and check out some Banyan trees. We stopped by Belle Surf Shop for some coffee, before we hopped to Oahu. It is a really cute coffee shop!

The highlight of this Maui trip was the road to Hana! It was a special experience that I will be sharing it on a separate post.
